Self-introduceThe story of Cafe Blossom)
my wife and I decided to start our new life,
since our children have become independent.
After many talks, we have come to one conclusion.
We were going to open up a cafe.
As my company,AIBA LIVING CO.,Ltd.
had a log house show room in the country,(Hikoma)
which is 20years old,
we did some garden work there
and it became my ideal cafe with a grand veiw.
We enjoy the nature in Hikoma all year around .

Latest Update: October 2003 - Day of Good Luck (Old Japanese Calendar)
Recently, people seem to have stopped commenting that the weather is unusual for the time of year. The weather is always strange nowadays; perhaps it’s just not worth worrying about it.
In any case, life is going well. Three years have passed without incident here at Blossom Cafe, and my family and beloved dog Sarya are all doing fine. We’ve received so much help and support from the people of the neighborhood, and as we approach the autumn of our lives we’re eager to keep working as much as possible. With the help of my dog Sarya, I’d like to tell you all about it.
I sincerely hope that you too will find true happiness.

Latest Update: Monday 6th May 2002
We finally solved the controversial issue of weekday openings and have been opening during the week ever since mid-March.
Also this month the olive oil from Catalunia finally arrived. The food we make with it is going to be good - don’t miss it!!
I’m feeling much more relaxed now that that the holiday period (Golden Week) has passed smoothly.

Latest Update 1st March 2001
We were finally able to reopen last summer. We were worried whether we would still have any customers left, so we are truly grateful to everyone who was waiting impatiently for our opening day!
Thanks to you, we were able to have a busy and prosperous fall.
I love the garden in fall and it had been a while since I’ve had chance to truly appreciate it, so the other day, when business was a bit quiet, I sat myself down at one of the tables. I was able to fully savor the beautiful colors in the evening sunset and the changing scent of the delicate air, whilst enjoying a quiet beer.
The slack winter season is when we gather up the fallen branches from the trees in preparation for next season. Having said that, plenty of our customers miss the warmth of our firewood stove, so we are kept nice and busy by their frequent visits!
Basically, I work in the garden when the weather is fine, and read books when it rains. I love to indulge in reading a good book by Rohan, Kafu, Koyo, Soseki, Bakin, Ryuhoku etc. At my side, the cook works her way unfailingly through a mountain of cookery books, researching our next special menu. It’s truly a peaceful scene, and time passes by quietly.
Anyway, as of today it’s March! Already by this time of year, the shade of the mountain near Hikoma (where our cafe is) has grown pretty hazy.
I’m truly starting to feel like spring is in the air. At times like this, in my heart I know that I can feel the spring wind thanks to my “country life”, and I feel excited.
“Have we planted this year’s herbs?” “What color of flowers shall we fill the garden with?” “Shall we do some weeding or not?” “Where should we replant that tree?”
I’ve already dug out our English and American gardening books and am now busy researching!
