International Network against Discrimination on the Internet (INDI)

Feb. 11, 2005

Stronger International Solidarity is Necessary to Tackle with Cyber-Discrimination and -Hate.

The year 2005 is the 10th anniversary since the first racist website was created on the Internet. The Internet is a great tool that everyone can use to express their opinions, beliefs and information that are not available by the mass media or by the authority. It is also true, however, that the Internet has been used to disseminate discrimination and hatred throughout the world. We should get together to come up with ideas to fight against hate and discrimination on the Internet. In other words, we should make the Internet a tool for human rights education. INDI will do our best to raise awareness of cyber-discrimination and -hate to bring stronger international solidarity among those who are concerned about this problem. INDI is run by a handful of volunteers who have no tolerance for any forms of discrimination and hate on- and off-line. Your volunteer and donation will be mostly welcome. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Mika Nakahara
